I started taking COQ10 recently for a couple of reasons. First CoQ10 is an important antioxidant and my diet basically sucks. It helps the heart and brain in many ways and unless you can get it from junk food I figured I needed a supplement. I also read a clinical study a while back where COq10 was shown to help lessen some of the symptoms of pd. I am not sure that it helps but as I stated that I do not eat a good diet and I figure that it cannot hurt. Also my past neurologist said that evidence was inconclusive about the beneficial effects of COq10 on pd. He didn’t say that it doesn’t work and I should not take it. The website WebMD.com says the same thing. I also recently saw a survey about the benefits of coconut oil. I tried this also but could not get it down. In my opinion do not waste your time and save your money. No clinical evidence and more than that it is terrible. I could not even get it down. In short there are always stories about new treatments for pd. They should be used under your doctors advice and the advice of good science..
